Planting with Schools in Kumasi
23rd May marked a powerful close to our two-day tree planting mission at Suntreso Technical Institute and Bantama M/A School!
With bright smiles, strong hands, and hopeful hearts, students and staff from both schools came together to green their environments and contribute to climate resilience in Kumasi.
From spacing and digging to careful planting and watering, every learner played a role in nurturing a greener future. It was inspiring to witness their energy and teamwork—proof that climate action is thriving in our schools through youth-led change.
This initiative, led by Adinkra Spark in collaboration with the TVET Ashanti Regional Directorate, formed part of the Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative under the Youth in Climate Action Fund. The contributions of Suntreso Technical and Bantama M/A School add to our growing vision of reclaiming Kumasi’s legacy as the “Garden City of West Africa.”
Special thanks to:
• Suntreso Technical Institute staff and students
• Bantama M/A School staff and students
• The TVET Ashanti Regional Directorate
• Our dedicated volunteers and planters
• Our funding partners and supporters
Let’s keep planting, growing, and inspiring. Together, we’re restoring Kumasi one tree at a time!
